The focus of this seminar will be in two parts. Part One will be covering what is commonly called “TIC” or Trauma-Informed Care. Despite public opinion, trauma-informed care is NOT the diagnosis, treatment, or care for trauma. In fact, it is wholly inappropriate for a TIC practitioner to decide if someone has experienced trauma. It is simply a patient-centric framework of care that carefully and consciously accepts trauma as a common experience for many people who seek health care treatment options and the practitioner seeks to NEVER re-traumatize someone unknowingly through either their approach, procedures, or treatment. The five key components of TIC will be covered, as well as the critical role of a Practioner to stay in the scope of practice while building a strong support system of professionals that can support appropriately.
Part two of this seminar is covering technique considerations when dealing with people with complex needs- or “yellow flags” This will include identifying people with higher sensitivities that need to be taken into consideration when deciding on force application. Chiropractic force must be determined on a thorough assessment – and for that assessment to be appropriate, to get the best results.
